why beat oneself up?

“We tend to beat ourselves up, but it’s necessary to let ourselves off the hook,”
says Ed Diener, PhD, professor of psychology and leading happiness researcher at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
“Inevitably, you’re going to make mistakes, and yet you still have to like yourself.”
------------------
and i DO! i had to make every mistake that i ever made in my life to be here, so in a way, it was nourishing.

church in the morning. i want to wear red lipstick and non-prescription glasses. not beating myself up anymore. my brothers will do that. gotta engagement party and a wedding to let the experienced women in my family plan.
ciao.

this is a candid picture of me looking very awful one day. count me being caught looking like this as one of my larger "mistakes!"

I think you look pretty in that picture ^^

And that's a good lesson to yourself! Don't beat yourself up! Just go on with everything the best you can! :D

Everyone screws up, but dwelling on what you did wrong isn't going to imrpove the situation.
And you SO don't look awful.
